Based Engineering was founded with a simple goal: create high-quality automotive parts that solve unique problems.

What began as a passion for designing and building custom components has grown into a business focused on engineering practical solutions for enthusiasts, restorers, racers, and EV builders. Every product is developed with the same mindset—understand the problem, design the best solution, and manufacture a part that performs reliably in the real world.

Founder Matei Dima brings over 10 years of experience in CAD, 3D printing, and fabrication. Combined with 4 years of full-time engineering experience in the automotive industry. Working in the automotive field has provided firsthand experience with vehicle systems, product development, manufacturing processes, and designing components that meet real-world performance and reliability expectations.

Based Engineering combines modern engineering tools with hands-on manufacturing capabilities, allowing ideas to move quickly from concept to finished product. Whether it's a one-off prototype, a replacement part that is no longer available, or a small production run, every project receives the same attention to detail.
